...Many young men and women participated in the Teatr rabochei molodyozhi (official title: Teatr rabochei molodyozhi). In the mid-1920s, the former imperial theaters, Teatr imeni Pushkina in Leningrad and Malyi Teatr in Moscow, were regaining their strength, and the Moscow Art Theatre returned from its overseas tour of 1922-24, and the entire theatrical world began to flourish. One reason for this was that plays were being written that depicted the turbulent times not in a schematic way but through human eyes. Good examples of this include Trenyov's Lyubov Yarobaia (1926) at the Maly Theatre, Bulgakov's Days of the Trubin Family (1926) at the Art Theatre, Billi Belotzerkovsky's The Storm (1925) at the Moscow City Soviet Theatre of Trade Unions, and Erdman's Commission (1925) at the Meyerhold Theatre. ...
