A former town in Nima District, central Shimane Prefecture. The San'in Main Line runs through the town. The main settlement is Nima, facing the Sea of ​​Japan, and fishing and seafood processing are thriving here. Beef cattle are raised and shiitake mushrooms are cultivated. Kotogahama is known for its singing sand, has a sand museum, and is also famous as a swimming beach. It is home to Yuzako Onsen. In October 2005, it was incorporated into Yunotsu Town, Nima District, and Oda City. 31.59 km2 . 4,931 people (2003).
