Born: May 14, 1905 in Kyoto [Died] March 19, 2004. Head of the Inoue school of Japanese dance and Kyomai in Kyoto. Her real name was Aiko Katayama. She became a disciple of Inoue Yachiyo III, and later married the third-generation Inoue's grandson, Noh actor Hiromichi. In 1947, she took the name of the fourth-generation Inoue. Together with Matsumoto Sada, the third-generation Inoue's most skilled disciple, she led the Inoue school to prosperity. In 1955, she was designated a holder of an Important Intangible Cultural Property. In 1957, she was made a member of the Japan Art Academy. In 1975, she was designated a Person of Cultural Merit.
