〘 noun 〙 A book printed with New Year's greetings (hokku) and linked verses. In the Edo period, a master of haiku would publish a collection of New Year's greetings and chants from his school at the beginning of the year. New Year's Book. ※Haiku and Zatandashu (1692) Vol. 1 "Looking at the Itami New Year's Book, one is sure to be inspired."
