A rodent mammal of the Scyllidae family. It has flying squirrel-like flying membranes between its front and back legs, and scales on the underside of its tail near the base. It lives in the tropical rainforests of Ghana and Liberia. It is about 43 cm long and 46 cm long. Its body is dark brown on the back and white on the underside. It hides in tree holes during the day, but sometimes basks in the sun in the afternoon. At night, it runs skillfully like a squirrel through the trees and glides between them, feeding on seeds, fruits, bark, and other things, such as palm nuts. When gliding, it climbs high up in a tree, stretches its front and back legs and tail, jumps, spreads its flying membrane, and flies up to 100 m toward the lower parts of other trees.
