Japanese: ゴーラル - ごーらる（英語表記）goral

A type of wild goat that lives on rocky mountain areas. It has strong limbs and short horns suited to jumping on rocky areas. It is a mammal of the Bovidae family in the order Artiodactyla. Its hair is long and dense, yellowish gray to dark brown. Both males and females have horns that curve backwards. Its body length is 95-130 cm, its tail length 10-45 cm, and its weight 25-30 kg. It lives in mountainous areas at altitudes of 1000-4000 m from southeastern Siberia to Myanmar, Thailand, and the Himalayas. It lives in small herds of 4-8 individuals, feeding on grass, leaves, twigs, and fruit in the grasslands and forests on mountainsides mainly in the early morning and evening, and resting on sunny rocky areas during the day.

山地の岩場にすむ野生ヤギ類の1種。岩場での跳躍に適した，しっかりした四肢と短い角をもつ。偶蹄目ウシ科の哺乳類。毛は長く，密生し，黄灰色から暗褐色。角は雌雄ともあり，後方に湾曲する。体長95～130cm，尾長10～45cm，体重25～30kg。シベリア南東部からミャンマー，タイ，ヒマラヤ地方の標高1000～4000mの山地に生息する。4～8頭の小さな群れをつくってくらし，おもに早朝と夕方に山腹の草地や森で，草，木の葉，小枝，実などを食べ，日中は日当りのよい岩場で休む。
