A collection of crazy writings from the Edo period. Written by Katsurai Sohachi. 1 volume. Published in 1761 (11th year of the Horeki era). It contains examples of works in various styles of Chinese classics, and is in the form of a parody of the Kobun Shinpo Zenshoshu, which was a beloved introductory text to Chinese classics throughout the Edo period. In terms of grammar and idiom, it is written in regular Chinese (it also contains several pieces in Japanese), but it uses vulgar and humorous subjects as material, displaying the humorous spirit of an intellectual. The author was a Confucian scholar from Osaka, and was known for his free-spirited personality. [Hino Tatsuo] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
江戸時代の狂文集。桂井蒼八著。1巻。1761年(宝暦11)刊。漢文の種々の文体の作品例を収めて,江戸時代を通じて漢文入門書として愛読された《古文真宝前後集》のパロディの形をとる。文法・語法面では正規の漢文であるが(和文も数編含む),素材に卑俗滑稽な事柄を取り上げて,知識人らしい諧謔精神を発揮している。著者は大坂の儒者で,奔放な人柄をもって聞こえた。【日野 竜夫】
