In 1372 (Bunchu 1, Oan 5), Ema Tajima Shiro, and in 1471 (Bunmei 3), Ema Samanosuke, were ordered by the shogunate to secure the Yamashina family territories, including Hida Okamoto Jojoho. Both were related to the Ise clan, and Samanosuke appears to have been an illegitimate son of Ise Sadamune in the Ishiyama Honganji Diary, and appears to have succeeded the Ema clan.
