Gotha Programme (English spelling) German

This is the platform adopted when the German Socialist Workers' Party (later renamed the German Social Democratic Party) was founded at a joint conference held in Gotha in central Germany in May 1875 by the Pan-German Workers' Association (Lassalle faction) and the Social Democratic Workers' Party (Eisenach faction). The preamble proclaimed the use of all legal means to work for a free state and a socialist society, but at the same time, it called for the abolition of the "iron law of wages," which was based on the ideas of Malthus, and the establishment of state-subsidized production cooperatives. Marx severely criticized this as a concession to the Lassalle faction from the draft stage. According to Mehring, Marx's criticism was the result of a misunderstanding that the draft faithfully reflected the theoretical views of both factions, but as the labor movement developed, the platform was replaced by the Erfurt Platform in 1891.

1875年5月、ドイツ中部ゴータGothaで全ドイツ労働者協会（ラッサール派）と社会民主労働者党（アイゼナハ派）との合同大会が開かれ、ドイツ社会主義労働者党（のちにドイツ社会民主党と改称）が結成された際、採択された綱領。前文で、あらゆる合法的な手段を用いて自由な国家と社会主義社会のために努力することをうたっていたが、同時に、マルサスの思想を前提とする「賃金鉄則」の廃棄や、国家補助による生産協同組合の設立などが掲げられていたため、マルクスは草案の段階からこれをラッサール派への譲歩として厳しく批判した。メーリングによれば、マルクスの批判は、草案が両派の理論的見解を忠実に反映していることを誤認した結果であるとされたが、その後、労働運動が発展するに伴い、同綱領は91年、エルフルト綱領にかえられた。
