Essays from the end of the Edo period. Written by Kimura Kenkado. Published in 1859 (Ansei 6). 5 volumes. The author, known as a generalist in Osaka, wrote down his research on paintings and other objects kept in shrines and temples around the country, rare plants and animals he had seen and heard, and strange tales and stories he had heard from others. After the author's death, Osaka writer Akatsuki Kamenari, at the request of the author's descendants, compiled and excerpted the manuscripts and published them. Rare items such as Ike no Taiga's Seal Collection and the Thirty-six Immortal Poets Scroll kept at Shimogamo Shrine are introduced in a chaotic manner, and the many illustrations by Matsukawa Hanzan add to the interest. 江戸末期の随筆。木村蒹葭堂著。1859年(安政6)刊。5巻。大坂の雑学者として聞こえた著者が，各地の社寺に蔵する書画器物や見聞した珍しい動植物についての考証，人から聞いた珍談奇説などを書き留めた原稿を，著者没後，子孫の依頼を受けた大坂の著述家暁鐘成（あかつきかねなり）が整理抜粋し，刊行。池大雅の印譜，下鴨神社蔵の三十六歌仙絵巻などの珍品が雑然と紹介されており，松川半山筆の多くの挿画が興を添える。【日野竜夫】
