Peach-faced lovebird - Kozakurainko (English spelling)

A bird of the order Psittacidae in the family Parrotidae. There are two subspecies found in southwestern Africa. It is small and short-tailed, measuring about 16.5 cm in length, but is the largest of the lovebirds. Its body is green, with a rose red color from the forehead to the chest, a blue lower back, and a yellowish-white beak. It is kept as a pet, but the sexes are the same color, making it difficult to tell them apart. Compared to the lovebird A. personata , this species can be distinguished by the fact that the area around the eyes is not white, the face is rose red instead of red, and the beak is whitish.

鳥綱オウム目インコ科の鳥。アフリカ南西部に2亜種がある。全長約16.5センチメートルと小形短尾であるが、ボタンインコ類lovebirds中では最大種。体部は緑色で、額から胸にかけてバラ赤色、腰は青色、嘴(くちばし)は黄白色をしている。飼い鳥にされるが、雌雄同色で識別がむずかしい。ボタンインコA. personataと比べると、本種は眼囲が白くないこと、顔の赤が赤色でなくバラ赤色であること、嘴が白っぽいことなどで区別できる。
