A general term for diseases caused by the parasitization of insects by filamentous fungi of the Aspergillus genus. It is a particularly important disease in silkworms, and the pathogens include A. flavus , A. oryzae , A. tamari , and A. ochraceus . Silkworms are susceptible to infection at the young stage, and sudden death occurs when the disease develops. As silkworms grow older, their resistance increases, but they become susceptible to infection again at the mature stage, and the disease develops and leads to death in the larval or pupa stage inside the cocoon. When conidia attached to the skin of the larvae germinate, the hyphae penetrate the skin and grow and extend inside the body, invading parts of each tissue. A.flavus,A.oryzae,A.tamari,A.ochraceusなどがある。
