Liquid nitrogen - Ekitaichisso (English spelling)

Liquefied nitrogen. Its critical temperature is -147.2°C and critical pressure is 33.5 atm. It is obtained by fractional distillation of liquid air or by fractional liquefaction of air. The liquid is colorless and transparent, and has high fluidity. In addition to being used as a raw material for the traditional synthesis of ammonia, nitrogen has attracted attention for its properties such as inertness and being a low-temperature liquid, and demand for it as an atmospheric gas in the chemical, steel, and electronics industries is growing. It is also used as a safe refrigerating liquid in the food industry.

窒素を液化したもの。臨界温度は零下147.2℃、臨界圧33.5気圧。液体空気の分留、または空気の分別液化によって得られる。液体は無色透明で、流動性が大きい。窒素は、従来からのアンモニア合成の原料としてのほかに、その不活性、低温液体であるなどの性質が注目され、化学、鉄鋼、電子工業における雰囲気ガスとしての需要が伸びている。また食品工業において、安全な冷凍用液体としても用いられる。
