Abbreviation for Coordinating Committee for Export Control. Established in 1949 as a subordinate organization of the Coordinating Committee for Export Control (CG), an export control organization for communist countries established under the guidance of the United States. Although it is an unofficial organization, it creates a list of embargoed goods (commonly known as the Paris List), mainly focusing on strategic materials, and recommends trade controls based on that list. In 1957, it merged with CHINCOM. With the end of the Cold War, deregulation took place, and in 1991, a list consisting of nine fields was decided. It is limited to semiconductors, computers, new materials, etc. Headquartered in Paris. 17 member countries. Japan joined in 1952.
