A militaristic women's group formed in Osaka in 1932. At the end of the same year, it expanded into a national organization called the Greater Japan Women's Association for National Defense. It was involved in sending off soldiers going to war, welcoming wounded soldiers and their remains, and so on. In the same year, it was merged with the Patriotic Women's Association and the Greater Japan United Women's Association to form the Greater Japan Women's Association. *Carefree Scenery (1940) by Ishida Ichimatsu: "There were two associations, the Patriotic Women's Association and the National Defense Women's Association."
