As mentioned above, in anatomy, the hand is the part from the wrist joint onwards, and is divided into three parts: the carpus, metacarpus, and fingers. The carpus is the part at the base of the hand, called the wrist, and inside it are eight small bones called carpal bones, which form the skeleton. The carpal bones are small bones at the base of the palm, and eight of them are arranged in two rows of four.
