Bunkyo Hifuron - Bunkyo Hifuron

A book on poetics written by Kukai. It was completed around 819-820 (10th-11th year of the Kōnin era). It is arranged in six volumes, Heaven, Earth, East, South, West, and North, and includes works on the four tones and their use, contrapositives, and poetic style or poetic illness, selected from collections by various Chinese poets from the Six Dynasties to the early Tang period, such as "Shiseifu" (Shen Yue), "Shige" (Wang Changling), "Shishi" (Shaku Kounen), and "Wen Xin Chaolong" (Liu Xing). Kukai's insight can be seen in the accurate citations of the texts, but many of these texts are only listed as titles in "Nihonkoku Genzai Shomokuroku" and "Bengen Tsukō".

空海撰(くうかいせん)の詩学書。819～20年（弘仁10～11）ごろの成立。『四声譜』（沈約(しんやく)）、『詩格』（王昌齢(おうしょうれい)）、『詩式』（釈皎然(しゃくこうねん)）、『文心雕竜(ちょうりょう)』（劉勰(りゅうきょう)）など、中国の六朝(りくちょう)から初唐にかけての諸家の集から、四声およびその運用を論じたもの、対偶を論じたもの、詩の格式あるいは詩病を論じたものなどを抜き出し、天、地、東、南、西、北の六巻に配してある。文献の的確な引用に空海の見識がうかがえるが、これらの文献は『日本国見在(げんざい)書目録』や『文献通考』などに書名をとどめるのみのものも多い。
