Japanese: 国際アマチュア無線連合 - こくさいアマチュアむせんれんごう（英語表記）International Amateur Radio Union

In 1925, amateur radio enthusiasts from around the world met in Paris, and the Union was founded with representative amateur radio organizations from 25 countries as members. Its abbreviation is IARU. Its objectives include improving radio technology, expressing opinions at international radio conferences, and promoting international friendly relations. Its composition includes (1) the representative amateur radio organizations of each country, (2) three regional organizations and their executive committees for Asia and Oceania, Europe and Africa, and North and South America, and (3) the Union Headquarters. The Union Headquarters is the headquarters of the amateur radio organizations selected by mutual vote among the amateur radio organizations that make up the Union, and the representative amateur radio organization of the United States has continued to function as the Union Headquarters since the Union's founding.

1925年に各国のアマチュア無線愛好家がパリに会合し，25ヵ国の代表アマチュア無線団体を構成員として発足した。略称IARU。無線技術の向上，無線関係の国際会議での意見表明，国際友好関係の促進等を目的とし，連合の構成は，(1)各国の代表アマチュア無線団体，(2)アジア大洋州，ヨーロッパ･アフリカ，南北アメリカの3地域機関とその実行委員会，(3)連合本部である。連合本部は，連合を構成するアマチュア無線団体の互選によって選出されたアマチュア無線団体の本部とされており，連合の設立当初からアメリカ合衆国の代表アマチュア無線団体が継続して連合本部の機能を果たしている。
