Hou Fang Yi - Kouhouiki

He was the first Chinese literary figure in the late Ming and Qing dynasties. His pen name was Chaozong and his pen name was Xueyuan. He was born in Shangqiu, Henan Province. His father was Xun, a leader of the Donglin Party, a political organization in the late Ming, and he was associated with prominent members of the organization. He opposed the eunuch party and its allies, and his fame was widespread, but he ended up in obscurity as a politician. His love affair with the famous courtesan Li Xiangjun was depicted in Kong Shangren's play "The Story of the Peach Blossom Fan," and he is also known as a literary model. The text of his biography includes the "Biography of Princess Song," which demonstrates their romance. As a writer, he belonged to the Tang and Song school, and his style was brilliant, elegant, and bold, overflowing with talent. He is counted among the three great classical Chinese writers of the early Qing Dynasty, along with Wei Xi and Wang Wan. The Qing Dynasty style was not yet prominent, and he retained the spirit of the Ming Dynasty. He is the author of the "Soukaidou Collection of Writings."

中国、明(みん)末清(しん)初の文人。字(あざな)は朝宗、号は雪苑(せつえん)。河南省商邱(しょうきゅう)の出身。明末の政治結社、東林党の指導者恂(じゅん)を父にもち、復社の名士と交際した。宦官(かんがん)党やその一派に対抗し、名声は一世にとどろいたが政治家としては不遇に終わる。名妓(めいぎ)李香君(りこうくん)との恋愛は、孔尚任(こうしょうじん)の戯曲『桃花扇伝記』に描かれて文学モデルとしても知られる。彼の伝記の文章中に「宋姫伝(そうきでん)」があって、2人のロマンスを実証している。文章作家としては唐宋派に属しており、才気の横溢(おういつ)した華麗でしかも豪放な作風である。魏禧(ぎき)、汪琬(おうえん)とともに清初の三大古文作家に数えられる。清朝風はまだ顕著ではなく、明の気風を残している。『壮悔堂(そうかいどう)文集』がある。
