Gao Feng Han (English: Gao Fèng hàn)

A Chinese painter from the mid-Qing dynasty. Born in Jiaozhou, Shandong Province. His pen name was Xiyuan. His pen names were Nancun, and in his later years he was known as Shang Zuosheng, Nanfu, and Laofu. In 1727 (the 5th year of the Yongzheng era), he was promoted to the rank of Xiaolin Fangzheng, and was appointed magistrate of She County, Anhui Province, but retired due to slander. He was active mainly in Yangzhou afterwards. He excelled in cursive script and seal carving, but after suffering from an injury to his right hand in 1741 (the 6th year of the Qianlong era), he painted dynamic landscape and floral paintings with his left hand. This is why he was known as Shang Zuosheng. His poetry collection includes the Nanfu Poetry Collection, and he was a collector of inkstones and wrote the History of Inkstones.

中国，清代中期の画家。山東省膠州の人。字は西園。号は南村，晩年には尚左生，南阜，老阜。雍正5年(1727)孝廉方正にあげられ，官は安徽省歙県（しようけん）丞にのぼったが讒言（ざんげん）により退官し，のち揚州を中心に活躍した。草書，篆刻（てんこく）にもすぐれたが1741年(乾隆6)右手を患って以後，左手で威勢のよい山水･花卉（かき）画をかいた。尚左生と号したゆえんである。詩集に《南阜詩鈔》があり，硯の収集家で著に《硯史》がある。
