Reality Neurosis

Japanese: 現実神経症 - げんじつしんけいしょう

A psychoanalytic concept proposed by S. Freud. He distinguished neurosis into real neurosis and psychoneurosis, but he believed that there was a group of neuroses that presented with autonomic nervous symptoms and emotional disorders not due to psychological conflicts from childhood, but as a result of the accumulation of physiological tension caused by inappropriate real sexual activity, and he classified them as real neuroses. This included neurasthenia and anxiety neurosis, with neurasthenia thought to be caused by excessive sexual activity and anxiety neurosis thought to be caused by intoxication due to insufficient release of sexual excitement, and later hypochondria was also added to this category.

S.フロイトの提唱した精神分析の概念。彼は神経症を現実神経症と精神神経症とに区別したが，小児期からの心理的葛藤ではなく，現実の性的活動が不適切なことによる生理的緊張の集積の結果，自律神経症状や情動障害を呈する一群があると考え，それを現実神経症とした。これには神経衰弱と不安神経症が含まれ，神経衰弱は過剰な性活動のため，不安神経症は性的興奮が十分に発散されないための中毒と考えられ，のちに心気症もこれに加えられた。
