Reelability

Japanese: 解舒 - かいじょ（英語表記）reelability

This refers to the state in which the cocoon threads separate from the cocoon shell during reeling. The quality of the reeling process and the quality and thread yield of the raw silk are closely related, so the unwinding rate is one of the important factors in grading raw cocoons. Cocoon unwinding varies depending on the silkworm species, rearing conditions, protection in the cocoon, and handling of the cocoon, but it becomes particularly bad when the cocoon spinning environment in the cocoon is hot, humid, and windless.

繰糸する際に繭層から繭糸が解離する状態をいう。その良否は繰糸工程や生糸の品質・糸歩に関係が深いので，解舒率として原料繭の格づけの重要項目の一つになっている。繭解舒は蚕品種，飼育条件，蔟中保護および繭の取扱いなどによって異なるが，特に蔟中の吐糸営繭環境が，高温・多湿・無風状態のとき著しく悪くなる。
