[Died] July 19, 1839. Tarn, Queyra. French poet. Lost his mother at the age of nine, he spent his childhood in Catholic faith and dreams, but later lost his faith due to the influence of Ramune. In 1834, he went to Paris and taught at his alma mater, Collège Stanislas. During this time, he renewed his friendship with Barbey d'Orby and wrote some of his first works, but he died young in his hometown from tuberculosis, and his works were not published during his lifetime. In 1840, George Sand published the prose poem Le Centaure (1836) in a magazine, and Le Journal intime (61), a letter to his sister E. Guérin, who was famous as a diarist, was also published. His works are characterized by a pagan atmosphere and dreams found in the beauty of nature. His other works include La Bacchante (61).
