A German automobile manufacturer known for its luxury passenger car Mercedes-Benz. It is also one of Europe's top manufacturers of buses and trucks. Its head office is in Stuttgart. It was established in 1926 through the merger of Daimler Motorengesellschaft (established in 1890 by G. Daimler) and Benz et Cie Rheinrische Gasmotorenfabrik (established in 1883 by C. F. Benz).
