Tokiwazu-bushi, Kawato-bushi. The Tokiwazu-bushi version was composed by Kishizawa Shikisa III in 1830-35 (the beginning of the Tenpo era) of the one-chunk "Eight Views of Yoshiwara: Flowers of Autumn Leaves and Brocade Red Kuruwa" (written around 1804-08) by Sakurada Jisuke I and composed by Sugano Joyu I. The original title was "Eight Views of the Brocade as They Are." It depicts the scenery of Yoshiwara in the style of the Eight Views of Omi. The song has a simple style, and since Bando Mitsugoro VII added choreography, it has often been performed as a dance piece. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
