A pass on the border between Kurigara, Tsubata-machi, Kahoku-gun, Ishikawa Prefecture and Oyabe City, Toyama Prefecture. It is 277m above sea level. Formerly written as Kurigara Pass, it was a key route connecting Kaga and Etchu, and the old Hokuriku Kaido road passed through it. Near the pass are Kurigara Fudo, Temmuke Shrine, Fudo Pond, and Gosha Gongen. To the east of the pass is the ancient battlefield of Saruga-Baba, famous for the Genpei War, and a monument bearing Basho's haiku "Yoshinaka's Nezame-no-yama and Tsuki-no-kanashi." In 1878, a new road was built through Amada Pass, 1km north of the pass, and the pass fell into disuse, and is now mainly used as a hiking trail.
