Mitsu

Japanese: 三津 - みと

Located on the eastern edge of the inner Suruga Bay in Numazu City, eastern Shizuoka Prefecture, this is the central settlement of the former Uchiura Village. It has long been famous for fishing and views of Mt. Fuji. Tourism has progressed, and the area is connected to Awashima Marine Park by a ropeway. In particular, Izu Mito Sea Paradise (formerly Mito Natural Aquarium), which is popular for its shows featuring marine animals, attracts tourists from all over the country. In addition, the mountainous area behind the area has seen significant development of mandarin orange orchards, and is the main production area of Nishiura mandarin oranges. In the summer season, the area is bustling with visitors who come for boat fishing, reef fishing, and swimming in the sea. There are also many private lodgings. The area is part of Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park.

静岡県東部，沼津市の駿河湾奥の東縁にある，旧内浦村の中心集落。古くから漁業と富士山の眺望で有名。観光化が進み，淡島の海洋公園とはロープウェーで結ばれている。特に海の動物たちのショーで人気のある「伊豆三津シーパラダイス」 (旧三津天然水族館) などは，各地から観光客が訪れる。また，背後の山地にはミカン園の造成が著しく，西浦みかんの主産地。夏のシーズンには，舟釣り，磯釣り，海水浴などの客でにぎわう。民宿も多い。富士箱根伊豆国立公園に属する。
