A national park in northwestern Wyoming, USA. Established in 1929. Located in the Rocky Mountains, south of Yellowstone National Park, it covers an area of 1,256 km2. The Teton Range, with its chain of high peaks over 3,500 m, and Jackson Hole to the east, are typical examples of fault block mountain formation along the Teton Fault, and even today the separation between the two is over 2,000 m. Glacial landforms and glaciers can be seen, and there are many wild animals such as buffalo, antelope, and elk. The highest peak is Grand Teton (4,196 m), which means "large breast" in French.
