Japanese: 奈良尾[町] - ならお

This old town occupies the southeastern part of Nakadori Island in the Goto Islands, Minami Matsuura District, Nagasaki Prefecture. Since the Edo period, it prospered through sardine fishing and dried sardine processing, but in recent years, purse seine fishing for horse mackerel and mackerel has become popular. The coastal area belongs to Saikai National Park, and Narao Shrine is home to a giant Ako tree (a natural monument) that is said to be 600 years old. In August 2004, it merged with Wakamatsu Town, Kamigoto Town, Shinuonome Town, and Arikawa Town in Minami Matsuura District to form Shinkamigoto Town in Minami Matsuura District. ^{15.36 km2} . 3,401 people (2003).

長崎県南松浦郡，五島列島の中通(なかどおり)島南東部を占める旧町。江戸時代からイワシ漁業，煮干加工で栄えたが，近年はアジ，サバなどの巻網漁業が盛ん。沿岸一帯は西海国立公園に属し，奈良尾神社には樹齢600年といわれるアコウ（天然記念物）の巨木がある。2004年８月南松浦郡若松町，上五島町，新魚目町，有川町と合併し，南松浦郡新上五島町となる。15.36km²。3401人（2003）。
