He was known as Cnut (or Canute) I as King of England (reigned 1016-1035) and Cnut II as King of Denmark (reigned 1018-1035). Son of Danish King Sweyn I. In 1016 he conquered England and became King, and after the death of his brother Harald II he also became King of Denmark.
