Quneitra (English spelling)
A city in southwestern Syria. Located in a valley in the Golan Heights near the border with Lebanon and Israel. It was destroyed by fighting with the Israeli army in the Six-Day War and the Fourth Arab-Israeli War. It is now a demilitarized zone monitored by the United Nations.
