Selection of favorites - Kisenshiki

A book on waka poetry from the mid-Heian period. It is one volume long and originally titled "Waka Sakushiki." It is said to have been written by Kisen Hoshi, but the details are unknown. Following the preface that describes the origins of waka poetry, it discusses the four types of waka poetry, tatami uta, renku, choka, konhonka, hachikai, and shinyo iname. 平安中期の歌学書。一巻。原名は「倭歌作式」。喜撰法師著と伝えるが、未詳。和歌の起源について述べた序文以下、和歌四病、畳歌、連句、長歌、混本歌、八階、神世異名などを論ずる。和歌四式の一つ。
