Kunitomi-so - Kudomi-no-sho

Japanese: 国富荘 - くどみのしょう
Kunitomi-so - Kudomi-no-sho
It was a large estate that covered the Miyazaki Plain, and extended over Miyazaki City, the towns of Sadowara, Kiyotake, and Tano in Miyazaki County (all now part of Miyazaki City), Saito City, and Shintomi Town in Koyu County. It appears as "Hyuga Kunitomi" in the inventory of the Hachijo-in estate in 1176, and in 1184, the lord's position was confirmed to Taira no Yorimori. According to the 1197 Hyuga Province Land Register, the number of rice fields was 1,502 cho (1,382 cho of Ichiensho and 120 cho of Yorigōri), of which Heigo was the land steward for 80 cho of Kaeda and 200 cho or less of Kano in Miyazaki County, and Tsuchimochi Nobutsuna was the land steward for 240 cho of Kunitomihongō in the same county, as well as 200 cho or less of Naka in Naka County and 15 cho of Sadowara in Koyu County. Yorigōri consisted of 70 cho of Hokitagō and 50 cho of Kanodagō in Koyu County, and was also the land steward for Tsuchimochi Nobutsuna. In 1306, it became the domain of Kankikōin (present-day Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City). In 1314, the manor official position of one-fifth of Naka-go was given to Kusakabe Mankatsumaru, and later the official position of Naka-go was given to Naka (Kusakabe) Moritsuna. At the end of the Kamakura period, the area was the property of the Hojo clan, but after the fall of the shogunate, it became the property of Ashikaga Takauji, and in 1333, Takauji donated the Sadowara district of the manor to Yamashiro Iwashimizu Hachiman Shrine. In 1340, most of the manor was donated to Tenryu-ji Temple. In the Nanboku-cho period, the Ito clan and Kimotsuki clan, who were on the side of the Southern Court, invaded the manor in 1336, and in response, the Nejime clan of Osumi Province, under the command of Hyuga Province's commander, Hatakeyama Naoaki, rushed to the manor (Ota Castle). In 1338, Hatakeyama Naoaki ordered Tsuchimochi Nobuhide to march to Kunitomisho Kahoku, and the following year, in 1339, the Battle of Tano Castle took place. In 1384, the Muromachi Shogunate ordered Otomo Chikayo, the governor of Hyuga, to place the Kunitomisho estate of Tenryuji Temple under the control of the temple's assistants, and requested the Shimazu clan to cooperate with him. In 1395, the Shogunate ordered Imagawa Ryōshun to expel the seized people from the estate, and in 1419, it told Ito Suketatsu to return the Shikanoda district of the estate to Tenryuji Temple.

Kunitomi-sho

A manor located in Onyu County, Wakasa Province. It is equivalent to the current Tsugiyoshi, Kumano, Haga, and Nago in Obama City, Fukui Prefecture, and Inukuma facing Wakasa Bay. It was the territory of the Chuke family of the Daijokan. It was originally a private territory inherited by Yoshiwara Yasutomi (the Left Grand Historian Ozuki Takamoto), but in 1165 it was established as Binpo no Ho and was called Kunitomiho. Since then, it has provided a total of 200 koku of rice for official prayers, rice for the Hasshoin shogunate, rice for the Hokkekai, and silk for the Chuke family. In 1195, the Dajokan, at the request of the Hoji and the Dajokan Chuke, established four periods, issued a Boushi (decree for the administration of the land), and suspended the entry of tax revenues by the Kunigunshi (provincial and county envoys) and allowed the descendants of Yasutomi to inherit the land. From then on, the land was called by its manor, and at that time the land consisted of 34 cho, including 25 cho of modern saku-da, 8 cho of tashiro-da, 3 cho of regular ara-da, and Inukumano-ara-ura (Inukumano-ura). From the 13th century onwards, there were frequent instances of jito (land steward) misconduct, and in 1278, a compromise was reached between the ryoke and the jito, and the land was divided between the ryoke and the jito until the Sengoku period. At the end of the Kamakura period, the land stewardship was held by Tokuso of the Hojo clan, but after the fall of the shogunate, it was transferred to the Otsuki clan. At the beginning of the 15th century, a half-tax was imposed on the ryoke's share of the land, and this continued thereafter. The final appearance of the name is thought to be during the Tenbun period (1532-1555), when it was listed as "Kunitomi Jitokata."
