Kunisaki Teido - Kunisaki Teido

Japanese: 国崎定洞 - くにさきていどう
Kunisaki Teido - Kunisaki Teido

A social hygiene specialist. He is noted as a revolutionary who fell victim to Stalin's purges. Born in Kumamoto City. After graduating from the First Higher School, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Tokyo Imperial University in 1919 (Taisho 8) and entered the Institute of Infectious Diseases. He became acquainted with the director, Nagayo Mataro, and became an assistant professor at the Department of Hygiene at the University of Tokyo in 1924. He planned to open a social hygiene course after returning to Japan, and studied in Berlin in 1926, but in 1927 (Showa 2), he joined the German Communist Party and began his path to becoming an international revolutionary as the center of a group of Japanese leftists in Germany, and never returned to Japan. During that time, he translated Lenin's "Infantile Diseases of the Communist Left" and published "Lectures on Social Hygiene" in Japan. It is well known that he sent "Impressor" from "The '32 Theses" to Kawakami Hajime, who translated it and submitted it to the underground Communist Party. In 1932, with the rise of the Nazis, he defected to Moscow through the acquaintance of Katayama Sen. He died in prison on December 10, 1937, as part of Stalin's purges.
