Japanese: 自家受粉 - じかじゅふん（英語表記）self-pollination

This is the process of pollination occurring within the same individual plant. It is the opposite of cross-pollination. There are stages such as homoflora, where pollination occurs within a single hermaphrodite flower; necroflora, where pollination occurs between flowers of a single inflorescence; and homoflora, where pollination occurs between flowers of a single plant. Although homoflora is the rule in plants such as Phaseolus and rice, plants generally have structures and functions that prevent self-pollination.

植物の同一の個体のなかで受粉の起ることである。他家受粉に対する語。一つの両性花のなかで受粉が起る同花受粉と，一つの花序の花の間で受粉が起る隣花受粉と，一つの株の花の間で受粉が起る同株他花受粉などの段階がある。インゲン属，イネなどでは同花受粉が通則であるが，一般的には，自家受粉を避けるような構造や機能をもつことが多い。
