Jinling Eight Families - Jinling Eight Families

Japanese: 金陵八家 - きんりょうはっか（英語表記）Jin-ling-ba-jia

The term refers to eight Chinese painters who were active in Jinling (Nanjing), Jiangsu Province during the early Qing Dynasty, including Gong Xian, Fan Xi, Gao Cen, Zou Tie, Wu Hong, Ye Xin, Hu Zhong, and Xie Zhong. Many of them, including Gong Xian, were exiled to Jinling. They were somewhat influenced by Gong Xian in landscape painting, and although there were some connections between their painting techniques, each had their own unique style, making them a notable group in the art world of the early Qing Dynasty. The name is based on the Record of Paintings of the State and the Court by Zhang Geng of the Qing Dynasty.

中国，清初期に龔賢 (きょうけん) を中心とし，同時期に江蘇省金陵 (南京) で活躍した樊圻 (はんき) ，高岑 (こうしん) ，鄒てつ (すうてつ) ，呉宏，葉欣 (しょうきん) ，胡慥 (こぞう) ，謝そん (しゃそん) の8人の画家をいう。龔賢をはじめ多くは金陵に流寓した者。山水画においてやや龔賢の影響がみられ，相互に多少の画法上の関連はあるがそれぞれ個性的画風をもち，清初の画壇で特筆すべきグループ。清の張庚による『国朝画徴録』に基づく呼称。
