A snail shell of the family Muscidae (illustration). The shell is top-shaped, 3cm high and 2.8cm wide. It is brown with a series of black cloud-shaped spots, and small black spots are lined up around the last coil. The shell opening is round and the inside is pearlescent. The lid is thin, round, and brown. It lives on rocky bottoms and among seaweed near the intertidal zone from the Boso Peninsula to Kyushu. Eggs are attached to rocks in string-like egg masses.
