Kindai Shun
A Korean literary figure. In Korea under Japanese colonial rule, he organized the Korean Language and Literature Society and the Jindan Society (1934), among others, and devoted himself to the study of Korean studies and the development of national culture. He also participated in the Korean Independence League, an anti-Japanese national united front organization of Korean communists. After liberation, he became head of the cultural department of the South Korean Workers' Party. He was executed by the Syngman Rhee regime in 1949. He wrote works such as "History of the Korean Novel" (1933), "History of Korean Chinese Literature", "Collection of Korean Songs", and "Yeon'an Journey", an anti-Japanese travelogue in China.
