...Body length 7-17cm, tail length 4-20.5cm, weight about 15g. Approximately 60 species are known, including the long-tailed deer mouse ( Peromyscus maniculatus ), with forest-dwelling ones tending to be dark brown to reddish brown, and plain and desert-dwelling ones tending to be sandy-colored. The underside and legs are white.
