Kinsen

A city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It has an area of ​​1,009.56 square kilometers and a population of 147,269 (2000). It was promoted to a city in 1949 and merged with Geumneung County in 1995. It is located in an eroded basin at the eastern foot of the Sobaek Mountains, making it a key location for railroad and road transportation. Its main industry is agriculture, with grapes being its specialty. Other products produced include raw silk, kudzu wallpaper, and agricultural equipment. There are ancient temples and scenic spots nearby, such as Jikjisa Temple and Ssanggyesa Temple.

韓国(大韓民国)、慶尚北道(けいしょうほくどう/キョンサンプクド)にある都市。面積1009.56平方キロメートル、人口14万7269(2000)。1949年、市に昇格。95年、金陵郡と統合。小白(しょうはく/ソベク)山脈東麓(とうろく)の侵食盆地にあり、鉄道、道路交通の要地。主要産業は農業で、ブドウが特産品である。そのほかに生糸、葛布(くずふ)の壁紙、農機具などの生産が行われている。付近に直指寺、双渓寺など名勝古刹(こさつ)がある。
