Leader of the Moroccan Rif War. Also known as Abdel Krim. Morocco was divided between France and Spain after 1912 and became a colony of the two countries, but the Rif region was not completely under Spanish control. Abd al-Kareem was a leader of the resistance movement against the Spanish army, which was carrying out a war of conquest. In 1921, he launched a counterattack and regained control of the Rif region. In 1923, he declared the establishment of the Rif Republic and became president. In 1925, the fighting spread to French territory, and the Rif region was defeated by a joint operation by the two armies, and surrendered in May of the following year.

モロッコのリーフ戦争の指導者。アブデル･クリムAbdel Krimとも呼ばれる。1912年以降モロッコはフランスとスペインの間で分割され，その植民地になったが，リーフ地方にはスペインの支配が完全に及んでいなかった。アブド･アルカリームは，征服戦争を進めるスペイン軍に対する抵抗運動の指導者であり，21年に反攻に転じてリーフ地方の支配権を奪回し，23年リーフ共和国の樹立を宣言，大統領となった。25年にフランス領に戦闘が拡大したことから，両国軍の共同作戦に直面して劣勢に陥り，翌年5月に降伏した。
