〘名〙 (バビンスキーは、発見者であるフランスの医師 J. F. F. Babinski による) 足底の外側部をこすると足母指が背屈する現象。乳幼児以外の正常人ではこの現象を認めないが、脳や脊髄の運動神経下降路に傷害がある時に発現するので、診断上の意義が大きい。
