It refers to a distant ancient period whose details are unknown depending on documents. It was first proposed by Sweden's S. Nilson (1787-1883) in 1836, but its basis was the traditional idea that the past known through documents is history. Dividing "history" into prehistoric and historic periods is a double use of the concept of history, and lacks academic rigor. With the development of archaeological research, it has become clear that history began with the birth of humans, and the term "prehistoric" has become nothing more than a relic. It is also important to keep in mind that the major division of history is not the invention or use of writing, but the invention or adoption of productive economics.
