Tango composed or performed in Germany, France, Italy, and other countries is also called European tango. It is not as intense as the original Argentine tango, and many of the songs are in a pop style that emphasizes melody. Tango began to be introduced to Europe around 1910, and became popular in various places after World War I. From the early 1920s to the 1930s, songs such as "Jealousy," "Blue Sky," and "Italian Garden" were written, and were widely loved in Japan at the time.
