Also known as the Ivy League model or traditional model, this is a suit that began to be worn by students and graduates of Ivy League schools in the eastern United States. It is a variation of the University model from around 1930, and spread after the American Designers Association announced it as a trendy style in 1955, and became very popular in Japan around 1960. The jacket has a natural shoulder with light padding, a round waist with no darts, and trousers that are narrow from the knee to the hem.
