Kinder Book

...Okamoto's works can be found in the two volumes of Okamoto Kiichi Masterpiece Collection (1933-34), and Takei's early works can be found in the three volumes of Takei Takeo's Illustrations (1928). Following the promulgation of the Kindergarten Act in 1926, Kinder Book was published for kindergartens the following year in 1927, and cannot be overlooked as a pioneer of monthly childcare picture books. Also in 1936, Kodansha's Ehon appeared, marking a period in the history of Japanese picture books....
