Pelops

Tantalus was the king of Asia Minor and the son of Zeus. He was close enough to the gods to invite them to banquets, but to test the gods' omniscience, he killed his son Pelops and served him at the table. As punishment, he was cast into the underworld and suffered eternal hunger and thirst.
