This is a record of the visit made by Saka Jubutsu to Ise Jingu in 1342 (Kokoku 3/Koei 1). It is also called Taijingu Sankeiki. The author is sometimes said to be the son of the Jubutsu, Shibutsu, but this is incorrect. Saka was a medical officer who served the emperor and shogun from the Northern and Southern Courts to the Edo period. He departs from Anotsu and ends in Yamada, where he holds a linked verse gathering for the Ryogu Horaku. The main text records a dialogue with Watarai Ieyuki, a shrine official at the Outer Shrine who was the master of Ise Shinto, making it important not only as a travelogue but also as a philosophical book on Ise Shinto. Included in Gunsho Ruiju. [Nishiyama Masaru] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
