[Nature]
The coastline is winding and has many inlets and headlands, especially Cape Andrea in the northeast. Most of the area is limestone mountainous, with the highest peak in the Kyrenia Mountains to the north being 1,023m, and the highest peak in the south being Mount Olympos (1,951m) in the Troodos massif. The Messaoria plain runs between the two mountain ranges from east to west.
