International Military Tribunal for the Far East

…After World War I, the Permanent Court of International Justice (PCIJ) was established as a truly permanent and universal court, and after World War II, it was succeeded by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). In addition, there are special courts such as the International Prison Tribunal (IPC) established in 1907, the Central American Court of Justice (which existed for 10 years from 1908), the Mixed Arbitration Tribunal established after World War I, the International Military Tribunal and the International Military Tribunal for the Far East established to punish war criminals after World War II, and the International Criminal Court established in 1948 under the Genocide Convention, but it has not yet been established. In addition, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea was established in Hamburg with the entry into force of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea in 1996. …

…第1次大戦後，真に常設的な裁判所で，普遍的なものとして，常設国際司法裁判所(PCIJ)が設置され，第2次大戦後にこれを継承したのが国際司法裁判所(ICJ)である。このほか，特別の裁判所として，1907年に立案された国際捕獲審検所(捕獲)，08年から10年間存続した中米司法裁判所，第1次大戦後の混合仲裁裁判所，第2次大戦後に戦争犯罪人処罰のために設けられた国際軍事裁判所および極東国際軍事裁判所があり，また48年のジェノサイド条約では国際刑事裁判所の設置が予定されているが，まだ実際には設けられていない。なお，1996年国連海洋法条約発効に伴い，ハンブルクに国際海洋法裁判所が設置された。…
