…After World War I, the Permanent Court of International Justice (PCIJ) was established as a truly permanent and universal court, and after World War II, it was succeeded by the International Court of Justice (ICJ). In addition, there are special courts such as the International Prison Tribunal (IPC) established in 1907, the Central American Court of Justice (which existed for 10 years from 1908), the Mixed Arbitration Tribunal established after World War I, the International Military Tribunal and the International Military Tribunal for the Far East established to punish war criminals after World War II, and the International Criminal Court established in 1948 under the Genocide Convention, but it has not yet been established. In addition, the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea was established in Hamburg with the entry into force of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea in 1996. …
